Royalties enable the artist to make a living through the works he creates. By writing plays that are adapted to the needs of directors and drama teachers, he offers said directors and teachers material to work from with their young actors. You need to understand that the plays available on this website are the fruit of a long hours of hard work during which the author did not receive any income. Royalties allow him to carry on his work and let you take advantage of it.
All plays on this website require a production royalty. A royalty is due anytime a play is performed in whole or in part in front of an audience, and is payable regardless of audience size and ticket price. Please read the following and act according to your situation. Thank you!
Schools from the province of Quebec
If plays are performed within the context of an activity in your elementary school or high school within the Province of Quebec, you must complete the MELS/SOQAD policy form on line. The royalties will be paid through this policy. It is free for you and your school, and only takes a few minutes to fill out.
Royalties vary according to the category, the length of the show, and the number of performances. You may pay directly from this website under Produits/Droits d’auteur.
In addition to royalties, all plays on this site are protected by copyright which means that it is illegal to reproduce, distribute, transmit, display, publish or broadcast them.
In order to make teachers’ work easier, a reproduction license is included in the price of the short plays offered on this site. For our 30 to 60-minute plays and our 60+ minute plays, you must pay a license if you wish to print out a copy of the play. We have settled on a fixed fee for these plays, whatever the number of characters.
